Romy Grasgruber-Kerl worked for ten years at IGO \u2013 Interessenvertretung Gemeinn\u00fctziger Organisationen (the Austrian umbrella organisation of non-profits), where she advocated for greater involvement of civil society in policy-making, for example in GovLabAustria. This gave rise to the idea of bringing Decidim to Austria: as an IGO netidee project, implemented together with Alexander Rusa. The experience gained still forms the basis of our work today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What was created<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>First German-language Decidim handbook<\/strong> for participants and administrators<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cEnhanced Textwork\u201d module<\/strong>: participants work on texts together, supporting, amending and commenting on sections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Template platforms<\/strong> for an idea collection and a participatory budget<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>decidim-austria.org<\/strong> as an information site on Decidim in Austria<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project was presented at the international Decidim Fest and featured in the trade journal Kommune21.
